Weed Control in Kharif Onion (Allium Cepa L.) Verma S. K., Singh T. Department of Vegetable Science, N. D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad (U. P.) India. Abstract Investigations were undertaken for weed control in kharif onion at Main Experiment Station of N. D. University of Agriculture and Technology, Kumarganj, Faizabad during 1992–93 and 1993–94 in which alachlor 1.5 and 2.0 kg/ha, pendimethalin 1.0 and 1.5 kg/ha and metolachlor 1.0 and 1.5 kg/ha alongwith weed-free and weedy check were evaluated. Minimum weed populations and dry weight of weeds (g/m2) were recorded under pendimethalin 1.5 kg/ha. However, maximum plant height, fresh and dry weight of plant (g/plant) as well as number of marketable bulbs/ha and marketable bulb yield (q/ha) were obtained under weed-free plot followed by pendimethalin 1.5 kg/ha.
